SD 62 SE TOCKHOLES (off) CHAPELS LANE

4/61 Lower Crow Trees 21.8.1952 (Formerly listed as Crow Trees GV II Farmhouse)

Farmhouse, C17, now house. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, slate roof with gable chimneys. L-shaped plan, 2 bays with projecting gabled wing to 1st bay. Two storeys; wing on left has at its right side a moulded doorway with modern door; all windows in front wall have chamfered surrounds and hollow-moulded mullions: in the wing a 4-light window with hoodmould at ground floor, and 4- and 2-light windows under one hoodmould at 1st floor; to the right, a 4-light window and a restored 2-light firewindow under one hoodmould at ground floor, and a 3-light window above. Left, right, and rear walls have various altered openings, ground floor of rear is largely concealed by large single storey lean-to. Interior modernised.
