Details

THORNTON DALE WESTGATE SE 8382 (south side, off) 15/150 Hall Garth Farmhouse - II Farmhouse. Early C18; raised, extended and altered later. Coursed sandstone rubble, with irregular quoins to ground floor; pantile roof with brick stacks, one rebuilt. 3-cell hearth-passage plan, with outshut; porch added. 1½-storey, 2-window front with single storey extension to right. Centre left door of six raised and fielded panels in lean-to porch. Second, board door with thin timber lintel inserted in outshut. Windows are small- pane, horizontal sliding sashes, of 3 lights to end left, and of 2 lights to both floors to right of porch, and to the raking dormer in attic to left. To extension to right one 2-light sliding sash and one C20 pivoting window. Late C19 bracketed eaves and bargeboards. End and left of centre stacks. Interior: several cupboard doors with H-L hinges.
