Raper's Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, now Field Centre. Late C18 with late C19 extension and other
later alteration. Tooled sandstone with corrugated-iron roof and rendered
stacks. Central staircase plan, one room deep extended to double depth in
late C19. 2 low storeys to front, with 2 windows. Central C20 board door
beneath tripartite keyed lintel. 3-light, small-pane horizontal sliding
sash with similar lintel to left. C20 replacement window to right beneath
timber lintel. First-floor windows are horizontal sliding sashes, of
3 small-paned lights to left and 2 large-paned lights to right. Stepped
eaves course. End stacks. Interior: in ground-floor room to right is a
rebuilt fireplace incorporating a segment-arched grooved lintel with
keystone. C19 extension to rear not of special interest.
