Details

NZ 15 NE STANLEY TANFIELD 2/200 Beckley farmhouse and farmbuildings attached II Farmhouse and farmbuildings attached. Early C18. Coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and large quoins; Welsh slate and French-tiled roof with stone gable copings. U-plan. 2-storey, 5-window house, with lower 2-storey 6-bay farm building attached at left; further ranges behind form 3 sides around yard, the house projecting. House has central renewed door in plain stone surround; similar surrounds to late C19 sashes above door and paired in outer bays, those at left smaller. End chimneys. Farm building at left has plain stone surrounds to 2 Dutch doors; inserted bottom-hinged 3-light window at left, and partly-glazed loft openings at right; empty square opening and pitching hole above to left of second door; rear of this range has boarded door in slightly-chamfered plain stone surround, and 2 loft openings with flat stone lintels and sills; other ranges have boarded door in stone surround; and boarded vehicle door in elevations facing yard.
