II Barn approx 60 metres to north-west of Hartswood Manor

Barn. C17 with later additions. Timber frame with weatherboard cladding; slate roof L-shaped plan comprising 5-bay main barn with 2-bay addition of 2 builds on east side at north end. Opposing central cart-entry to main barn, and another to the eastern bay of the addition. Large-scantling framing survives almost intact on rubble and brick plinth, having: jowelled posts on sole plate with mid-rail, wall plate and straight braces to tiebeams and some to mid-rail, queen strut roof trusses clasping purlins, some rafters replaced,some wind braces. The roof of the addition is butted up to the main barn roof and the posts of the party wall modified to allow access; the addition has two central trusses adjacent, one with queen struts, the other with queen posts.
In state of dereliction at time of inspection. Brick addition with adjoining range to east and adjacent buildings to north-west and south-east not of special interest.
