Details
SS 90 SW THORVERTON THE BURY, Thorverton 8/126 Berry Cottage - GV II Cottage adjoining rear wing of Berry House. Probably C18. Colourwashed and rendered; slate roof, gabled at ends; axial stack with brick shaft. Plan : Possibly originally the inner room of a 3 room and passage house, Wardles (q.v.), adjoining at the right, being the hall and lower end. The building, however, has been thoroughly remodelled. At the left end the first floor projects over a former carriage entrance to the courtyard behind Berry House (q.v.). Exterior : 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front; 4 panel front door to right hand, carriage entrance to left hand with timber infill and arched entrance. Fenestration of probably C18 the inner room of Wardles (q.v.) but thoroughly remodelled. The 16- pane boxed sashes. Interior not inspected. Group value with Berry House and Wardles.
