16/470 Terrace walls and steps to the 18.1.77 garden south of St Michaels(formerly listed as Terrace Wall to Burrswood) GV II
Terrace walls and steps. Probably early C20, dating from a period when the garden was designed by the brother of the owner, a newspaper magnate called Johnstone (Lee). Rusticated stone.
The coped wall immediately south of the house has a series of deep low buttresses on the south side. Steps lead down to the second terrace, the steps with flanking ramped walls surmounted by ball finials. The walls of the second terrace are surmounted by urns.
Included for group value with St Michaels (q.v.).
