The following shall be included in the list :

WICKHAM WHITELEY LANE SU 50 NW (west side) 7/6 Whiteley Lodge II

Former farmhouse. Mid C17, altered. Timber frame with later cladding of brick in Flemish bond, now painted; left return has tile-hung upper floor; C20 interlocking tile roof; brick stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with rear outshut, the right end of this raised to 2 storeys C19; single-storey C19 wash-kitchen set back on left. Garden elevation: plinth. Bricked-up central doorway; inserted C20 door to left bay with C20 window on left. Right bay has large gabled ingle- nook chimney subsequently enlarged, which has offset at top, tabled flues (trun- cated), and added lean-to at front. Small window to its right. Wash- kitchen has 2-light window under flat brick arch; stepped dentilled eaves; and stack at left end. Rear: 2-storey wing on left has end stack. Outshut has C20 door, a small 2-light window and 2 later windows: gabled 2-light dormer with old brick gable; old stack on right with dog-tooth band and coupled diagonal flues. Early C20 single-storey addition on rear of wash-kitchen not of special interest. Right return: C19 brick porch flanked by 3-light window to left, 2- light window to right and above, all with small-paned late C19/early C20 wooden casements. Interior: framing exposed comprising jowelled wall posts, chamfered wall plates, and chamfered tie-beams. On ground floor left-hand room (parlour) has large-scantling spine-beam with ovolo moulding and stepped cyma stop; old joists; rear-wall fireplace. Right-hand room (kitchen) has stop-chamfered spine beam and front-wall fireplace having timber lintel with almost flat 4-centred arch. Central staircase remodelled, with reused moulded splat balus- ters and one old newel to landing balustrade. On 1st floor, right-hand room has section of plank and muntin partition wall and reused panelling; left- hand room has 2-panel cupboard door with H-L hinges. Roof has raked queen strut trusses, diminishing principal rafters, through purlin straight wind braces, and old rafters.
