BARTON TURF STAITHE ROAD TF32SE (North side) 1237- /3/10004 Hayletts II

Pair of houses. c.1770, converted to single house c.1900. Plastered and colourwashed shuttered clay; reed thatched roof 2-cell plan. Single storey and attic. Central plank door flanked by one mid C20th 2 light casement right and left. Gabled roof with central brick stack and internal gable-end stack to west both rebuilt c.1900. Rear (north) elevation with full-length continuous outshut under sloping pantiled roof one stack to east, former stack to west removed c.1900. Further early C20 outshut attached to north. Late C19 extension attached to north-west: single storey, pantiled roof INTERIOR. Each ground-floor room with winder staircase by stack, entered from C18 plank doors on strap hinges. West room with late C19 cast-iron arched register grate, east room with C18 plank cupboard doors. First-floor rooms unheated. Roof with one tier of butt purlins and collars.
