Water powered mill machinery in working order for production of stone-ground floor but former breach wheel replaced by a metal turbine vertically mounted in the same position to utilize drive shafts, belts etc. The mill race, below ground structure, some of the internal structure and mill grind stones, associated gearing and bagging machinery of C1800. Building added on the SE side to house a roller mill powered by an internal combustion engine but mill and engine now removed. Red brick with tile roofs unless otherwise noted below. The main mill block is a gabled range of 3 storeys and attic in two sections of which the 3 bay NE section is the earlier. On the north west side of the range a double span wing with 2 gables: A pair of semi-circular arched windows to each floor of each gable wall with small pane cast iron frames.
The LH gable has a central vertical boarded hoist housing projecting from second floor to ridge level. The RH gable contains a central arched window similar to those below. The main range has segmental arched windows with cast iron frames to each floor, brick dentil eaves cornices and brick dentil string courses to the added floors. A hoist housing with corrugated asbestos sheet cladding projects from the NE gable. Internally: boarded floors on pitch- pine or oak joists and bridging beams supported on circular cast iron columns at mid span. Roofs are mainly queen post and purlin construction.
