5/15 Laundry Cottage and gates
GV II
House, mid C19, squared rubble stone with slate hipped roof, end- wall and ridge stacks. Two-storey, 4-window east front of sash- windows, 9-pane above, 12-pane below, in flush stone surrounds. Flush quoins. To rear slate-roofed single-storey laundry range, lean-to against south wall of Walled Garden (q.v.), roof carried down over broad verandah on painted timber posts, 12-pane and 16- pane sashes. At west end, 2-storey return with sash windows and hipped roof. Attached to south wall of main house, wall linking to gatepiers with fine mid C19 iron gates, resited from forecourt of demolished main part of Bowood House.
