Details
COLEBROOKE COLEFORD SS 70 SE 3/125 Lamp post approximately 2 metres east of porch of Spencer Cottage GV II
Lamp post. Late C19. Cast iron. Lamp post for an electric light comprising octagonal stem with moulding over octagonal base. From top of stem 2 narrow arms project and light housed in a square-sectioned lantern which tapers outwards as it rises to the cap. The lamp post appears on an old photograph of Coleford which the owner claims dates from 1904. The base bears the maker's legend, Barton and King, Exeter. Included for group value. It is positioned at centre of a remarkably unspoilt and picturesque hamlet and lights the crossroads.
