GV II
House. Late C16 with C17 extension. Added front pile of 1871. Later additions. Rear pile: Timber-frame faced with colour-washed brick. Fishscale slate roof; concrete tiles to rear pitch. Rectangular in plan with off-centre axial stack. C19 brick east gable-end with crowstepped parapet. 2 storeys with attic east of stack. Scattered fenestration of mainly casement windows with part of one surviving ovolo-moulded mullion window. East gable- end with 2 sash windows beneath skewback arches. Two modern outshuts to north. Interior: Two queen-post trusses to west of stack. Two bays east of stack with upper crucks. 1871 pile: Gault brick with slate roof. Symmetrical 3-bay plan with projecting enclosed central porch. Pair of stacks to rear wall. 2 storeys. Tripartite sashes with vertical glazing bars and horns beneath skewback arches to side bays. Panelled front door with rectangular fanlight. Plain doorcase with hood on brackets displaying date. Single sash window with vertical glazing bars and horns above. Crowstep gable to porch with obelisk kneelers and studded globe to apex. Crowstep gable-ends. Guilloche-moulded median stringcourse and moulded dentil cornice. Later extensions to west.
