Details
HARTFIELD CHUCK HATCH TQ 43 SE 12/10023 Frogshole Cottage II House. Late C17. Three bay timberframed cottage with frame, including some diagonal braces, visible to north east with rendered infill, otherwise mainly clad in weatherboarding. South west gable tile hung. Half-hipped tiled roof with central brick chimneystack. One storey and attic. Casement window to south west with door beneath. North east has early C20 wooden platform with plank door flanked by latticed windows above. Interior not inspected but survival of wall frame to eaves level reported, together with the survival of small barred window. Probably a crofter's cottage originally. Mentioned in a report by R T Mason to the Sussex Archaeological Society on 21st November 1969.
