SEMINGTON
1365/4/182 CHURCH STREET 29-JAN-88 (South side) Six monuments in the churchyard betwee n 1 metre and 5 metres north of chance l of Church of St George
GV II Six chest tombs. C18 and C19. Limestone. All of different design; tomb nearest chancel to Sarah Cullurne died 1864; fielded panels, quarter balusters and weathered top. Pair of tombs next north with 2 panels to main sides, west one has guilloche ornamented pilasters, east one has lozenge decoration around panels; probably c1700, both with ogee-moulded tops. Next pair to north has shield-shaped or rectangular fielded panels, east one has inscription to William Matravers died 1780. Single tomb to north of group has oval moulded panel to north side and floral drops on corners, pulvinated frieze to flat top.
