Large house and adjoining coach house and cottage. Mid C19. Plastered rubble;
rubble stacks with plastered brick chimney shafts; slate roofs. Main house facing
north has a 4-room plan; a double-depth arrangement with central entrance hall and
main stair off left (east) side between front and back rooms. Front rooms have rear
stacks rising in valley between parallel roofs and rear rooms served by end stacks.
Single storey double depth service block to right (west) with large stack rising
from valley between 2 roofs. Similar block to left (east) but front part extended
further to include coach house (now a garage) and cottage cross wing on end
projecting forward and including axial stack. Main house and cottage are 2 storeys.
Symmetrical 3-window north front to main house and divided into 3 bays by stucco
panelled pilasters. Central door (now C20 replacement). Large stuccoed flat-roofed
porch clasping pairs of pilasters on the forward corners with moulded caps and
bases, and moulded entablature and parapet. 16-pane hornless sash windows with sun
shutters. Plain cornice and plinth. Deep projecting eaves and low-pitch roofs
hipped each end. Ancillary block to right has two 16-pane sashes with shutters and
hipped roof. To left former coach-house and stables has C20 garage doors, central
tall hornless 16-pane sash and, at left end, a C19 6-panel door with overlight. End
of cottage has ground floor blocked window recess with small fixed 6-pane window
under eaves of hipped roof. Symmetrical 4-window front on south side of main house
between end panelled pilasters. Ground floor French windows with glazing bars and
margin panes and first floor hornless 16-pane sashes with sun shutters. Deep eaves
and roof hipped each end. Ancillary block to left has 2 horned 16-pane sashes and
what appears to be the mark left by a removed plat band over. To right similar
block has hornless-16-pane sash, C20 glazed door near right end and first floor C20
sash with glazing bars. Right (east) side has large stair window containing radial
pattern of C20 coloured glass. Interior not inspected.
