NZ 62SE SKELTON & BROTTON SALTBURN ROAD (off east side), Brotton
1/41 Shepherd's House Farm- house, outhouse and pigsty.
G.V. II
House, early C19, with early/mid C19 left extension, outhouse and pigsty. Dressed sandstone. Clay pantile roof with stone ridge and gable copings and moulded kneelers. Stone stack with heavy string and cornice, at right end; rebuilt brick stack at left end. 2 storeys, 2 windows. Entered from extension. Original timber window architraves with late C19 sashes, stone sills and lintels. Chamfered plinth and moulded eaves cornice. Single-storey left extension has mid C20 door and window. Outhouse adjoining left-hand side of extension has lean-to pigsty to left-hand side, with small yard enclosed by stone wall incorporating feeding trough in south side. Rear shows lean-to to staircase wing.
