3/6 Hutton tombstone c.13m. south-west of tower of Old Church of All Saints.

Tombstone 1776, of James Hutton aged 6 years and 6 months. Rectangular sandstone slab, approx. 132cm. high x 79m. x 10cm., with moulded border to inscription and text. Curved panel at head bearing text on scroll held by cherubs with horns, flanked by flowers. Angles at head of stone inscribed: "W.N." in left angle, "Sculp." in right-hand angle. Text below memorial inscription reads: "My tender Parents cease to mourn That I so soon drop'd into Urn Tho' Death's cut short my hopeful Days I learning lov'd and Virtue's ways. Then let no grief your Peace destroy I'm gone before to rest in joy. Serve God while you on Earth remain then we with joy will meet again."
