piers flanking wall to front
GV II
Lodge and entrance to front. Circa late C19 extended in mid and late C20. Snecked
local stone with moulded plinth and brick dressings. Slate roof with gable ends,
crested clay ridge tiles and pierced decorated barge boards with clay finials. Tall
axial stack.
Plan: Overall 'T' shaped plan with 2-rooms on front and wing near centre to rear.
Entrance through C19 porch on front right. C20 extensions on left and to rear.
Gothic style.
Exterior: Single storey. Asymmetrical front elevation with gable end of cross wing
on left and C19 porch to right with round-headed brick arch and plank door.
Decorated pierced barge boards. 2-light window to left. 2 over 4 pane sash in right
hand gable end with brick surround and hoodmould C20 extensions to rear.
To front, entrance; C19 stone rubble and brick square-on-plan gate-piers with moulded
plinth and pyramid caps. Inner granite piers and wrought iron gate with datestone
1897. Flanked by stone rubble quadrant walls with brick coping and stone rubble and
brick terminal piers with pyramid caps.
