8/19b Manor Farm West Barn and attached buildings to south east and south west

GV II

Barn, C18 of red brick with thatched roof. 3-stead barn with hayloft at the east end, continuous outshut to south and attached ranges of open fronted shelter sheds to south east and south west forming south facing yard. Western range gabled, eastern range hipped, but with higher southern section forming lean- to against east barn. Off centre barn doors towards western end to north and south. Rectangular window openings to east of north barn doors. Hayloft door with 2 rectangular openings below on west gable. Southern outshut has 3 Diocletian windows flanking 2 stable doors. Parapet gables with tie irons dated 1881. Included for group value with eastern barn, forming intact farmstead with 2 south facing yards. The farmstead demonstrates the growth of a complex of farm buildings from the early C17 to the immediate post field enclosure form.
