Main range has 3-room ground-plan, the right-hand room (now storage-room with separate access) being divided off by a stone wall and possible a later addition. Front has doorway, off-centre to left, with early C20 glazed porch. Ground storey has one window at either side of porch; second storey has one window above porch and another to far right. All have C19 or early C20 wood casements, except for tall, small-paned horizontal sliding sash of late C18 or early C19 above porch. Projecting stone chimney-stack with tapered top to rear of two left-hand rooms. Interior: large fireplace in rear wall of middle ground-storey room has floor of slates on edge and a segmental brick arch of headers. Two plank doors with long strap-hinges in second storey. 2 roof-trusses over the 2 left-hand rooms have principal rafters with plain feet, threaded purlins and ridge-piece; both have had halved collar-beams with shaped ends, but only one, which is cambered, survives. Other interesting features may be hidden under plaster. q.v. Barn at south end of Spring Cottage and Thatchings.
