2. Mid-C19. Main block beach flint with red brick dressings and stringcourses. Pitched tile roof. 3 storeys and maltings in attics. East elevation has 2 ranges of casements with glazing bars, and planked loading door on 2nd floor. South elevation completely obscured by unlistable rendered addition. West elevation largely obscured by outbuildings, but 2 segment-headed windows are visible on 2nd floor. Louvred clerestory with hipped tile roof on crest of roof. Gabled dormers to east and west, with pitched tile roofs, tile-hung sides, and partly louvred, partly glazed fronts. [Although this block is not strictly part of an identifiable group, its roof, with its louvred gables and clerestory, plays a very striking part in the roof-scape of the town].
