Details
WESTMINSTER GANTON STREET TQ 2980 NW 70/202 No 24 II House. Early to mid C18, with mid C19 shopfront. Brick, the front elevation now painted, the rear elevation plum coloured with red brick dressings. Slated butterfly roof concealed behind parapet. 4 storeys. 2 bays. Ground floor shopfront of 3 vertical panels over panelled fascia, and doorway to left. Upper storeys each of 2 recessed horned sashes. To rear, exposed brickwork with flush sashes beneath red brick segmental arches and with red brick quoins. Rare surviving plan form of front, back and closet rooms. Extensive plain panelling and box cornices to stairwell and upper storey rooms. Staircase with turned newels, moulded roll and stick balusters, all now painted.
