Details
STANNINGTON STANNINGTON NZ 27 NW 8/130 Swan Farmhouse II House, mid C18 with early C19 extension and C20 porch. Squared tooled stone with ashlar dressings, porch rock-faced stone; Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Plinth, rusticated quoins. Central flat-roofed porch with slit window and 4-panel door with 2-pane overlight on right return. Original doorway, in architrave, within. Flanking 12-pane sash windows, and 16-pane sashes above, all with thick glazing bars, in architraves. Bold hollow-chamfered eaves cornice. Coped gables; stepped-and-corniced end stacks. Single-storey, 2-bay left extension with 12-pane sash windows. Coped left gable with stepped- and-banded stack. Left return, above extension, shows 6-pane Yorkshire sash to attic. Right return, with 12-pane sash windows, rebuilt c.1960.
Lower C18 wing to rear. Brick addition at rear of C19 extension is not of special interest.
