Details

STANNINGTON OLD Al NZ 27 NW (East side) 8/116 Premises belonging to H. Irwin and Son II Smithy. Early C19 extended later C19. Squared tooled stone with tooled-and- margined dressings; Scottish slate roof. 1 storey, 4 bays: right part is original smithy with central centre-hinged stable door, in alternating-block surround; 12-pane fixed window to left, pair of 12-pane iron-framed casements to right. Added left bay shows 18-pane Yorkshire sash set in former doorway, with similar window to left. Hipped roof. Right return shows 2 blocked segmental arches with C20 small-paned casements inserted.
