1784-0/9/10001 Cowhouse on east side of farmyard at Manor Farm GV II

Cowhouse and loose boxes. C17 rebuilt mid C19. Red brick, Staffordshire blue tile roof. 1 storey, 7 bays with feeding passage in partial outshut to west. East side (facing farmyard): casements with blue-brick sills alternate with segmentally-arched and rebated doorways having boarded doors with strap hinges (one of the doorways altered). Right return has oak corner post on left and infilled studwork beneath exposed principal-rafter truss. Interior: 7 more principal-rafter trusses mostly having diagonal struts; 2 have boarded infill. C17 rafters and purlins with some straight wind braces. East end of trusses supported on a 10-bay arcade of round brick arches which give access to stalls from feeding passage in outshut. Included for group value.
