House. Early C17, possibly a remodelling of earlier building, altered and
extended C20. Coursed ironstone rubble, C20 tile roof, coped front gable with
ogee half-pendants to kneelers. Ashlar chimney to front gable, brick chimney to
far end. At right angles to road. 2 storey, 2 large bays. Gable to road has
good 2-storey gabled bay window with ovolo-moulded ironstone mullion windows,
moulded cornices, and small ornamental gablets at apex of gable coping. Left
side has 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window to ground floor right, and
off-centre C20 door in C17 moulded stone surround. Above door is a paired leaded
casement. Left bay has C19 3-light leaded casements, the lower with cambered
stone arch, and small fireplace window to far left. Right side has slight
projection between left bays, and irregular C20 barred wood and metal casements,
one a semi-dormer. C20 single storey extension projects at angle to far bay.
Interior: main far room has heavy cambered and chamfered wooden fireplace lintel,
and chamfered cross beam with broach stops. Part of heavy curved wind-brace
visible in central bay of roof.
