HARLAXTON SK8832 POND STREET 1315-0/14/204 (South East side) 24/09/79 No.1 Tudor Cottage II
Estate cottage, now a house. c1830-40, with late C20 alterations. Coursed squared stone with red brick and ashlar dressings and pantile roof. Brick plinth and quoins, ashlar coped gables with kneelers. Coped ashlar ridge stack with double flue. 2 storeys; 2 window range. Windows are stone mullioned casements with diamond pane glazing. The front has to right a large shouldered external gable stack with inglenook window and coped ashlar double flue, flanked to left by a 3-light window. To its left, a Tudor arched board door flanked to left by a 4-light window, both under a stepped cornice. To right, a single light window. Left return has a 2-light window and below, a 3-light one, both with cornices. C20 external stack to left. Right return has a 2-light window on each floor. This building is probably one of those built c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton.
