GV II
Farmhouse. Mid to late C17. Rubble with some'render, wooden lintels and double Roman tile roof and Welsh slate on wing parallel with road. U-shaped plan with principal south front of 2 storeys, 3 windows and 2 rear wings either side of court- yard. Windows are 3-light C20 casements. Central gabled porch with stone walls and barge-board, moulded C17 doorframe with studded plank door. Rear courtyard wall has 3-light oak ovolo-moulded mullion to first floor. 2 ridge brick stacks. Later outshuts in courtyard. Interior: Central passage, large inglenook fireplace to ground floor left hand room with stone jambs to right and wooden lintel; deeply chamfered cross beams. Ground floor right hand room in rear wing has 4 panel compartmented ceiling. Open newel staircase. (Unpublished VAG report by R G Gilson, 1979.)
