UPPER BROUGHTON RECTORY ROAD SK62NE (north side) 6/147 Group of headstones - in Churchyard of Church of St Luke to south of Church east of porch GV II

Headstones. Early to mid C18. Mainly slate. Left to right, east to west.

1. Limestone, shaped with a winged cherub and a raised tablet. Illegible inscription, early C18.

2. Limestone, rectangular with a winged cherub and a cloth-draped tablet. Illegible inscription, early C18.

3. Limestone, rectangular with a winged cherub. Moulded surround and raised tablet, to: William Pemperton: Glentworth near Lincoln d.1709.

4. Facing east. Very small, to: Helen and Ann, daughters of Henry Page by Elizabeth his wife, they died August 12th 1701.

5. Facing east. Rectangular with raised letters and 2 round-faced winged angels, to: Peter Hemsley d.1727.

6. Rectangular with 2 round-faced winged angels, to: Isabel wife of Peter Hemsley d.1738.

7. Rectangular with round-faced winged angel, to: Elizabeth daughter of Peter Hemsley by Isabel his wife d.1725.

8. Small, rectangular, with round-faced winged angel, to: Ann daughter of Thomas Hemsley d.1744/5 aged 15 years.

9. Rectangular with round-faced winged angel, to: Thomas Hemsley d.1747.

10. Rectangular with 2 round-faced winged angels and raised letters, to Anne, wife of Thomas Hemsley d.1731.

11. Large slab with moulded surround and foliage decoration, to: Bridget, wife of John Hemsley d.1767.

12. Plain, to: Elizabeth wife of Edward Hart d.1735.

13. Tapering with two round-faced winged angels and raised letters, to: William Hart d.1730.
