Details
1. SANDON RECTORY ROAD 5213 SANDON The Rectory (Formerly listed as the Old Rectory) TL 7404 33/469 10.4.67.
II* 2. A good mid C18 red brick house with later additions and alterations. 2 storeys and attics. The north front has 5 window range double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in flush cased frames. Above the centre 3 windows there is an open pediment supported at each end on a pair of console brackets, with a bulls eye window in the tympanum. A central 8-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight with ornamental glazing bars has a wood doorcase with Tuscan columns and a cornice. The 1st storey centre window has a swept and shouldered architrave which is united to the doorway by a panel of balustrading. A rainwater head has the initials I L above the date 1765. Roof tiled, mansard, double pitched and half hipped with a modillion eaves cornice and 2 flat headed dormer windows on the north front.
