Two adjoining cottages. Early C19, enlarged by one bay to left in
C20. Roughcast faced rubble stone on rubble plinth with raised
alternating quoins, concrete tile roof, stone ridge stack to right
of centre but between cottages. Single range of 2 storeys.
Originally a symmetrical composition but with added left end bay
now with C20 three-light to each floor. Otherwise each cottage
has single light on outside and 2-light towards centre, arched with
moulded stone surrounds, square hoodmoulds to ground floor, leaded
casements with Y leading to No 42 to right and replaced metal
casements to No 44. Central Tudor-arched doorway with plank door
and flat hood on console brackets.
