II
Corn mill, with house incorporated. Mid C19. Coursed and
dressed stone, corrugated asbestos roof to mill, stone slate roof
to house with stone end stack. Mill of 3 storeys and house of 2
storeys and attic forming single L-plan range with house extending
back to form the L and with break in roofline between mill of 5
bays and house of single bay. All cambered head openings. Mill
has 4 paired 6-pane casements and plank door in bay 4 from left on
first floor and large straight-headed double central opening above.
Three similar windows and one double opening with timber lintel to
left on ground floor. House has one similar window to ground and
first floor with gabled dormer on eaves and plank door to left on
ground floor. Remains of waterwheel on left hand return of mill.
Interior now has new machinery, the original having been removed
when the mill became a saw-mill for a period. Cast iron columns
support lower floors, remaining construction in timber.
