A monumental stone Church in classical style, built in 1912 to the designs of F G Faunch, with a balustraded parapet and modillion cornice. The front has a tall Ionic portico with plain polished granite columns rising through two storeys and a modillion pediment which forms a prominent terminal feature to the vista up Northgate Street. Two storeys. Five window range on the front and eight window range on the sides, separated by pilasters and with double corner Ionic pilasters. The windows are double-hung sashes, some with glazing bars. The upper storey windows on the front have semi-circular heads and the outer windows have pediments on console brackets. The ground storey has a central 6-panel door with a rusticated arch and two outer doorways with segmental pediments on console brackets. The doorways are approached by a broad flight of steps across the whole front. A single storeyed wing with panelled parapet, cornice and pilasters projects on the west side. Five window range on the west side and two window range on the south side, double-hung sashes (with glazing bars on the west side). The centre window has grouped triple lights with semi-circular heads and a large central light. Roofs slate.
Bethesda Baptist Church and Nos 9 and 11 form a group with Nos 5 to 27 (odd), Fonnereau Road.
