SOUTH HIENDLEY CHURCH LANE SE31SE (west side) Felkirk 4/64 Green, Bedford, and 2 Dunhill monuments in row 3½ to 10½ metres south of south-east corner of Church of St. Peter. GV II
Group of 4 monumental slabs in unevenly-spaced row 3½, 5, 8½ and 10½ metres south of church; commemorating (i) Jonathan Green, (d.1722), (ii) Robert Bedford (d.1744), (iii) Thomas Dunhill (d.1747) and (iv) another Thomas Dunhill (d.1770), respectively. (i) has a continuous border of repeated leaf patterns, with scrolls in the corners, a raised decorated initial letter "H" and elegantly seriffed lettered inscription; addition: Jno. Green (d.1768). (ii) is undecorated and plainly worded in seriffed lettering; additions: Mary, wife (d.1761) and Sarah, daughter of Robert and Sarah (d.1764) aged 3 months. (iii) has a shouldered fielded panel, and above this a head elaborately carved with eg. skull and crossbones, hour glass, hammer, faces and flowers; panel stylishly lettered; addition, Sarah, wife (d.1772). (Head cracked). (iv) has a moulded shouldered arched head with radiant flowers in the spandrels, elegant inscription; additions: Ann, daughter (d.1773; Thomas, son (d.1798).
