TQ 2881 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER PORTLAND PLACE, Wl 45/61 (east side) No. 32 G.V. II Large end of terrace 1st rate town house. 1776-1780 (with some mid C.l9 alteration) by James Adam, as a speculative development with his brothers and John Elwes on a Portland Estate lease. Stock brick with rusticated stucco ground floor; slate roof. Astylar elevation completing the symmetrical block of Nos. 26 to 30 (even) q.v. 4 storeys (including added attic storey) and basement. 3 windows wide with 5-window return to New Cavendish Street with entrance. Semicircular arched doorway with double panelled door, sidelights and fanlight with added Corinthian columned stucco porch. Recessed sashes, in stucco architraves to upper floors and those on 1st floor with alternating pediments. Plat band finishing off stuccowork to 1st floor; 2nd floor sill band; main entablature over 2nd floor and attic cornice and blocking course. Enriched cast iron balcony to 1st floor. Plumbed spike finialed area railings. Interior not inspected.
