16/166 Nos.57 and 59 (Kings Arms Public House and attached outbuildings to rear)

GV II

Public house. Mid C18 and C19, with datestone 1839. Squared coursed limestone and brick with stucco facade; and slate roof. Originally probably 2-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic; 4-window range. Unhorned sash windows of differing sizes all with glazing bars and under plain stucco heads. 6-panel double doors to far left under flat wooden hood . C20 door to right hand corner has C19 moulded corner detail above. Ashlar gable parapet and kneelers to right. flat-topped roof dormers with casement windows. Lateral ashlar stack to centre and brick stack at end. C19 brick extensions to rear and 2-storey stone extension to rear, formerly part stables. Datestone 1839 is to centre of this range. 4-window range at first floor of unhorned sash windows with glazing bars. Interior remodelled C20. Included for group value.
