C18 large pair with additions 3 storeys, 2 windows each in main block, with set-back 1-bay entrance wings Brown brick with stone dentil cornice and stone-coped brick parapet Fairy high pitched hipped tiled roof Stucco lintels to sash windows on 1st floor and lunettes above 3-storey, 2 windows C19 north extension has stone-coped parapet and sash windows with glazing bars under stuccoed lintels No 552 has large rear extension of circa 1900, formerly a ballroom, now a warehouse No 546 comprises the original south entrance wing and a wide 2-storey stock brick front extension.
Nos 540 to 570 (even) form a group.
