TQ 2980 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER PICCADILLY Wl 81/61 (north side) No 57 to 59(consec.) 7.4.71 (including Nos 48 to 50(consec ) old Bond Street) GV II Corner block of offices and shops. Dated 1905,by Read and Macdonald. Portland stone, slate roof. Picturesque free Jacobean. 5 main storeys and attic. 6 bays to Piccadilly under very large gable, octagonal corner pavilion and 7 bays to Old Bond Street. Mid C20 shop front to ground floor partly returned (perhaps masking some of original stonework). Canted bay windows with stone mullioned and transomed casement lights. Weathered strings and decorative stonework to aprons etc. Balustraded parapets. On Old Bond Street return the elevation drops to 4 storeys and there is an original deeply moulded segmental arched entrance. Similar fenestration. Steeply pitched roof has dormers and lofty decorated chimney stacks.
