Pair of estate workers' houses. Mid-late C18 by John Carr for Edwin Lascelles, 1st Lord Harewood. Punch-dressed stone, stone slate roofs. T-shaped plan. 2 storeys. 7-bay symmetrical facade. Central 3 bays taller, set forward and gabled flanked by 2-bay wings. Continuous ashlar plinth and impost band to ground-floor windows, 1st-floor sill band to central 3 bays only. Ground-floor bays have round-arched windows and doorways with stone surrounds. central 3 bays have 12-pane sashes with fixed upper light and 9-pane sashes above in plain-stone surrounds. Coped pedimented gable. Wings have windows altered with raised sills and a single sash window above. 6th bay has doorway with glazed fanlight. Wings have ridge stack and stack at junction with central 3 bays. The central element of a balanced composition.
