GV II

Farm manager's house. Early C19, 2 builds. Hammer-dressed stone, Welsh blue- slate roof. Regency Gothic style. 2 storeys. Garden front:3 bays, 3rd bay earlier, rear entry. Plinth. Central canted-bay window has hoodmould. All windows have small-paned Gothic glazed sashes, 1st 2 bays having windows with double-chamfered surrounds, an inner hollow chamfer and hoodmould; 3rd bay having single-chamfered surrounds. Hipped roof with oversailing eaves. End stack to right and 2 ridge stacks. Rear: 2nd and 3rd bays break forward and have in the inner return a Tudor-arched doorway with moulded surround and spandrels. Windows as front. Left-hand return has similar doorway with stair-window above. Right-hand return has doorway with stop-chamfered surround.

Interior: long single-flight closed-string staircase has turned newels and stick balusters. 4 bedrooms retain original fireplaces with stone architraves, recessed friezes and thin projecting shelves with good decorated cast-iron gates.
