GV II
House and garden walls to front. Circa early C19. Stucco over rubble with granite sills. Hipped asbestos slate roof with projecting eaves and rendered brick chimneys over side walls. L-shaped plan with slightly larger room, left, probably the kitchen/living room and parlour to right; cross passage between leading to stair hall with service room in wing at right angles behind right hand room. 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 2-window west front. The doorway is off-centre to the right and there is an extra window, left of the doorway. C20 panelled door with integral fanlight and C20 pedimented doorcase. The windows, including the one to the left of the doorway, are original hornless sashes each with a border of marginal panes with diagonal corner bars and 8 panes to the middle. Interior not inspected. A high garden wall adjoins a doorway at right angles on either side of the house and each returns with a ramp at the front linked to a low granite coped front wall with round-headed granite monolith piers to central gateway. This house is similar in design to Mudgeon Cottage qv., with an extra ground floor window and marginal panes to the sashes.
