TQ 2979 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER OLD QUEEN STREET, SW1 91/13 (north side) 5.2.70 Nos 30 and 32 G.V. II Pair of terraced town houses. c1774-80 rebuild. Yellow stock brick, slate roofs. 5 storeys and basement. Each 2 windows wide. Rusticated stucco facing to ground floor with entrances to right and left respectively. Doric portico porches, that of No 32 of 2 storeys with rectangular 1st floor bay, square headed doorways with double panelled doors and fanlights. Recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged arches, No 32 with 1st floor canted bay window. No 30 has 1st floor Greek Key patterned plat band; brick "triglyph" frieze below 4th floor sill course; parapet with coping. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. Rear St James's Park elevations have 3-window bows with stucco Greek Key frieze below top floor and S pattern delicate iron balconies. Interiors have good stone geometrical staircases with delicate wrought iron balustrades; good plasterwork and neoclassical marble chimney pieces in No 32. Survey of London; Vol X
