Details

SOUTH CAVE SE 93 SW 1460-/2/10002 STATION ROAD (West side) Lychgate and attached wall to south Cave Cemetery GV II Lychgate and attached walls. 1873-74. Coursed limestone rubble with brick and ashlar dressings, wooden piers and roof with plain tiles. 2 low walls each supporting 2 wooden piers with arch braces to the roof Between 2 wooden gates with quatrefoil panels. Eitherside are curved rubble stone walls with curved brick tops, ending in single square brick piers topped with ashlar pyramidal caps. Included for group value.
