Details
ST NICHOLAS AT WADE SHUART LANE TR 26 NE (north end) 1/102 Shuart Farmhouse 11-10-63 GV II House. C16 and altered mid C19 and C20. Timber framed and clad with red and yellow stock brick, in part rendered, and in part tile hung. Plain tiled roof. Irregular and much altered plan. Two storeys with late C20 rebuilt shaped gable at right, and projecting 2 storey canted bays to left. Recessed wing to left. Roof stepped down to right. Stacks to rear. Irregular fenestration of metal and wooden casements and sashes, 3 window bays to left, 3 on main range. Boarded door to centre in C20 porch. Behind tile porch is a good ribbed and studded door of 6 panels with moulded surround and flat hood on brackets, with cock's-head latch plates. Interior: frame visible but altered; one room upstairs with remains of strapwork painted decoration on timbers and painted panels with strapwork motifs on portion of wall.
