MONKTON MONKTON STREET TR 26 NE (North side) 1/60 Parsonage House 1.2.72 GV II

House. C16, part rebuilt and enlarged mid C19. Red brick, the C16 parts in English Bond, and plain tiled roof. Two storey hipped main range with 4 gables, the centre 2 projecting, of 2 storeys, 3 storeys, 2 storeys and 3 storeys from left to right, all C19 except that to centre right. Plinth, with moulded plat band on centre-right gable (the original entrance porch). Stacks to end left, right and rear right. Five wooden casements on first floor, 3 on ground floor and 1 in each of the 3 storey gables. C17 moulded door in left projecting gable, and C16 chamfered four-centred arched doorway with label in right projecting gable. Original door of 9 ribbed and studded panels in moulded surround, with clover-leafed finial to large handle/knocker. Strap hinges. Interior: fine moulded ceiling joists. Inserted 4 flight dog-leg stair of early C17 turned baluster pattern, only in part not of C19. Clasped purlin roof.
