War Memorial Cemetery Gateway
II
War memorial gateway. c.1918. Limestone ashlar. Rectangular
gateway with moulded semi-circular headed archway with scrolled
keystone and moulded imposts. Archway flanked by pairs of columns
at each side with foliate capitals, high plinths below and
plaques inscribed with the names of the fallen in between. Dates
1914 and 1918 in the spandrels. Entablature surmounted by large
inscription block inscribed: "Erected in memory of the men of
Wainfleet All Saints who fell in the Great War". Moulded cornice
above.
