Artisans' dwellings. c.1908, built by the Mercers' Company Estate. Ceramic red brick with rubbed red brick and stone dressings, slate roof. Free Style "Wrenaissance" with good detailing. 3 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 5 windows wide with 2 storey semicircular arched through way to right. Central staircase doorway in stone Gibbs surround with lush consoles to scrolled open pediment framing cartouche-key. Flush framed segmental arched glazing bar sashes and, in left hand bay, a shallow through-storey canted bay recessed in splayed reveal opening with glazing bar sash lights. Above the entrance the partially open staircase rising into attic is made more of a feature than usual with enriched stone framed oeil-de-boeuf on 1st floor and the opening through 2nd floor and attic with rubbed brick dressings swelling into Tuscan reveal-columns. Stone frieze and bracketed cornice. Spear head area railings.
