7/112 Hartland Cottage
GV II
House. Circa 1820s extended to rear in circa 1830s. Slate-stone rubble with brick
dressings to openings. Slate roof with gable ends and gable end to rear. C20 brick
shaft to stack on right hand gable end.
Originally of one-room plan with entrance passage on left. Extended to rear in circa
1830s to form 2-room double depth plan with stair to rear of entrance hall.
Two storeys and basement. Regular 2-window front, brick segmental arches to openings
and 12-pane sash windows renewed in 1970s. Part glazed C19 6-panel door to left .
Rear elevation of 3-storeys, ground floor with early C19 12-pane hornless sash and
crown glass.
Interior Entrance hall with early C19 moulded cornice, plaster ceiling, hall arch
and slate flag floor. Rear room on right with early C19 moulded cornice. Wide
opening in thick wall between front and rear rooms inserted in 1970s. Early C19 dog-
leg stair. Roof structure to front range with principals and collars partly halved,
lap-jointed and oak pegged. Roof structure to rear range bolted.
