Corner public house, 1866 (dated). Pale gault brick with stucco dressings and stuccoed corner; slate roof. Italianate classical. 4 storeys. 5 windows wide (one blind) to High Street quadrant corner and 5-window wide return to Paddington Street. Arcaded ground floor with entrance splayed across corner, the arches carved on Corinthian pilasters and with enriched piercedwork spandrels, under entablature fascia with modillion cornice; panelled and glazed bar doors and panelled risers to bar windows. Recessed sashes to upper floors, those on 1st floor with pediments on triglyph brackets and similar brackets carrying cornices over 2nd floor sashes. 3rd floor sill band and prominent crowning modillion cornice and blocking course. The stuccoed quadrant corner with dated name panel at 3rd floor level.
